HISTORY

The name CALINGAG was derived from KALINGAG Tree whose leaves and twigs are used as spices for foods which are very rampant in the area.

CALINGAG was once a Sitio of Barangay Nabuslot. They were given independence in the first term of Former Municipal Mayor Dominador Madrid in 1950.

Mr. Felimon Sena served as the First Cabeza de Barangay of Calingag. It had only 9 households with a total of 86 population back then.

The topographical location of CALINGAG encouraged settlers from the island of Marinduque to permanently stay in the place.
